About The Department

Ankara City Hospital Psychiatry Department started to operate in 2019.

Our executive and educational chief is Prof. Dr. Erol Göka, and our educational staff includes two professors and five associate professors (Prof. Dr. Ali Çayköylü, Assoc. Prof. Dr. I. Tuncer Okay, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Görkem Karakaş Uğurlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Uğurlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat İlhan Atagün and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Süleyman Can). In addition, fourteen specialists, assistant doctors who have received psychiatry training, and assistant doctors from different branches and clinical psychologists work in our clinic.

Our inpatient service is located on the 2nd floor of The General Hospital with a capacity of 45 beds. Our polyclinic unit serves with 11 polyclinic rooms on the B2 floor of The General Hospital.

Our Psychiatry Clinic is committed to provide the highest quality to patients for medical care in a comfortable, safe and patient-focused environment. There are two major sections in our department, the clinic wards where inpatients are treated and outpatient polyclinics where virtually every aspect of psychiatric disorders and mental illnesses ( Depression, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, Social Phobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Impulse Control Disorder, Schizophrenia and other Psychotic Disorders, Mood Disorders, Eating Disorders, Acute Stress Reaction etc.) are treated. In our inpatient service clinic, Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) can be performed under general anesthesia when necessary.
