Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit consists of 32 beds 2 units and 4 isolation rooms in total. We have 1 academic member, 3 intensive care medical specialists, 2 chief nursing officers, 10 pediatric assistants, 2 Nurse Training Officers, 2 Nutrition Nurses, nurse, 4 caregivers, 2 secretaries and 4 hospital cleaning staff in our unit.

Our Level 3 Pediatric Intensive Care Unit certified by The Ministry of Health is integrated with 122 Emergency Health Services and it is structured as a referral center where medical care and treatment is provided at the maximum level, accepting patients between 1-Month-Old babies and 18-year-old who are in critical condition, being sent from any part of the country, Türkiye or apply to our hospital.

Life support modules and monitors that every patient has by the bedside enable us for vital signs or monitorization opportunities such as ETCO2. Other than basic intensive care unit treatments, advanced treatment options are applied such as renal replacement therapy, therapeutic plasmapheresis, Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in our unit. Additionally, ETCO2 and Invasive blood pressure monitoring, pediatric portable ventilators are used in case of necessity for the intra hospital transfers. Ultrasonography and echocardiography devices of our unit enable us to perform many basic tests by the bedside, used for procedures such as central venous catheterization practice, detection of pulmonary air leak and pleural effusion (fluid in the lungs), assessment of trauma patient.

Advanced medical care support is provided for all the pediatric patients such as patients who need intensive care unit due to serious infection, patients with cerebral palsy or other neurological disorders, patients who need intensive care unit after surgical procedures such as neurosurgery, orthopaedics, Ear Nose & Throat etc., patients who need to be on life support, patients with congenital heart disease, patients who undergo surgery for congenital cardiac anomalies, medicinal poisoning, shock, trauma patients who need intensive care unit follow up, patients with respiratory failure, patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, patients with kidney or liver failure, patients with metabolic disorders, patients who have congenital myopathy and all the other children who need intensive care unit for various reasons such as enzyme replacement therapy in our unit.
