H. Dinçsoy, a mother of 10 children living in Ankara, was caught in coronavirus after contacting her grandchild who worked in a company and tested positive for Covid-19. Dinçsoy, who was treated in Ankara City Hospital Internal Medicine Clinic with her complaints of confusion and extreme respiratory failure, overcame the disease despite her chronic illnesses and her advanced age. Dinçsoy, who recovered, was discharged from the hospital with applause by 20 healthcare personnel who took part in her 10-day treatment. Dinçsoy thanked the healthcare professionals saying, "This happened thanks to you. May Allah bless you".

SHE HAS PACEMAKER

Our Ankara City Hospital Internal Diseases Clinic Administrative and Training Supervisor Assoc. İhsan Ateş noted that the treatment of our 80-year-old patient was started with plaquenil, favipiravir and decor, and steroid therapy was applied for respiratory failure. Stating that they keep the patient under close observation because of her chronic diseases, Assoc. Dr. Ateş said, "Thank God, despite her chronic illnesses, we are very happy that she regained her health through our intense efforts. Our patient had acute kidney failure, diabetes, blood pressure diseases. She also had a pacemaker in her heart. We recovered her respiratory failure in a short time like 10 days and discharged her.".

PATIENTS WITH CRONIC DISEASES HAVE MORE PROBLEMS

Reminding that organ failure develops in people with more chronic diseases, Dr. İhsan Ateş said, "These people may pass Covid at a more distressing level. We need to be more cautious in these patients. We need to start treatment quickly and if most of the lungs have begun to be affected, we need to control them with steroid therapy and other treatments. In this respect, the society should be aware that the disease can progress seriously and the prevalence will increase in everyone, "he said.

EARLY DIAGNOSIS IS IMPORTANT FOR THE TREATMENT

Assoc. Dr. İhsan Ateş stated that they fought against the pandemic in Ankara City Hospital Internal Medicine Clinic and said, "We have been working with a team of 200 doctors from the very beginning of the pandemic process. Hundreds of people regained their health and were discharged. "Our only wish is that while fighting this struggle with healthcare professionals, every individual in the society should have self-sacrifice, increase their awareness, protect their family, environment and country. We expect this from our citizens with our hearts and souls."
