3. High testosterone (hairing or findings in blood)

The rate of POS seen in women in our country is % 6-10

Late adolescence stage is expected to make a diagnosis and when the case turns 18, it is re-evaluated.

POS is not a disease, but the whole of findings caused by hormonal changes. In some cases, genetic predisposition is identified while most of the cases are incidental.

The importance of POS lies beyond the uncomfortableness caused by menstrual disorder and hairing, it is the metabolic circumstances in which it leads to, causing long term diseases.

Some of the long term complications of POS are;

• Hypertension

• Obesity

• Coagulopathies

• Atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease

• Endometrium cancer

POS complicates childbearing, also causing infertility. POS Treatment shows an alteration depending upon women's life period.

While the treatments for menstrual disorder and hairing of the female youth who don't have a desire to have a child or still being unmarried are prioritised, treatment is applied to the women who want to have a child. On the contrary, women with POS can have a child. Ladies who don't have any desire to have a child in the late stage of their life are offered treatment options intended for regulating findings. POS causes multiple problems that require endocrinology, dermatology, internal diseases, psychiatry and maternity departments to work together. Those findings are monitorized for long term in coordination with the other branches in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Polyclinic, providing service and applying the latest world-class treatment methods to our patients in a safe manner under our hospital.
