Pediatric Urology
The Department of Pediatric Urology in Children's Hospital Building treats pediatric patients including infants, kids and teens and specializes in evaluation and treatment of acquired disoerders and congenital anomalies of the urinary tract and genitalia, including bladder exstrophy and epispadias, disorders of sexual differentiation, duplex collecting system, enuresis, hernia (inguinal), hydrocele, hydronephrosis, hypospadias, kidney stones, urinary incontinence, undescended testicles, neurogenic bladder, posterior urethral valves, Spina Bifida, Testicular torsion, Ureteropelvic junction (UPJ) obstruction, Ureterocele, Urinary tract infection (UTI), Urodynamics, Urological Tumors: Varicocele, Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR), Voiding dysfunction, Wilms Tumor, Urogenital Rhabdomyosarcoma and Urogenital trauma.
Depending on the disorder, our multidisciplinary care team includes specialists in pediatric urology, pediatric nephrology, pediatric anesthesia, pediatric endocrinology, pediatric psychiatry, pediatric nutrition and pediatric physiotherapy. Advanced diagnostic tests are performed including renal/bladder ultrasound, voiding cystourethrogram, renal scans and urodynamic testing. Treatments may include medical management, behavioral modification and surgery.
Pediatric Urology offers a wide range of expertise such as a dedicated and board certified (FEAPU) pediatric urologist who evaluates your child's urological condition and arranges an individualized treatment plan for care: A pediatric urology urodynamics nurse works with our urologists, another clinical pediatric urology nurse assists your child and family in understanding, implementing and coordination of your treatment plan. We perform more than 1,500 surgical procedures and we care for 12,000 children including foreign patients each year.
