Diagnosis and Treatment:
Assisted Reproduction: The ART center is located on the 10th floor with its inpatient clinic and on the ground floor with its outpatient polyclinics. Assisted Reproduction Center of Ankara City Hospital is one of the pioneers in the field of reproductive health and assisted reproduction in Turkey and it has over 30 years of experience since its foundation in 1989. Our center has a mission of providing a patient-oriented treatment to every couple based on their specific needs with a team of experienced staff working in the light of the latest technological innovations and we are happy to provide you a qualified medical assistance.
After a polyclinic visit from the couples, we evaluate female and male partners both in our center. Hormonal and ultrasonographic evaluation of the female, hysterosalpingography or hysteroscopy, genetic tests if indicated are performed before starting treatment. Evaluation of semen parameters, blood hormone profile or genetic tests, if indicated, are also performed for males. Best treatment protocol is selected for each couple. Patients are followed by an experienced team to evaluate the ovarian response after drugs when ovarian stimulation is started.
When enough number of follicles in appropriate size are achieved, egg retrieval is planned. Sperm sample is also taken simultaneously (by ejaculation or via surgical sperm retrieval methods; microsurgical testicular sperm extraction (micro-TESE), percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA) etc. on the same day of oocyte retrieval. Collected eggs are fertilized with sperm of the spouse in the laboratory by using either intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) or classical IVF methods.
The embryos are monitored thereafter and the highest quality embryo(s) are selected for transfer. Surplus embryos are cryopreserved and preserved for future use after the approval of the couple is taken. We can perform embryo biopsy and preimplantation genetic test to the embryos to select the healthy embryos.
In case of malignancies or other medical conditions that harm ovarian reserve or sperm quality, sperm or oocyte cryopreservation can also be performed in our center prior to their treatment, which would give a chance to the patients to build their own families after their recovery in the future.
