General Information About The Department 

Our Department consists of 9 professors, 10 assoc. Professors, 2 lecturers, 4 chief interns, 16 specialist physicians, 1 hand surgeon, 39 residents, 58 hospital ward nurses, 30 operating theater nurses, 9 technicians of orthopedics and 3 physiotherapists. We are located in two separate floors (The 5th and 6th floor) which are divided into wards as A, B and C. In total, we have the capacity of 132 beds, half of which are single and the other half is double. Orthopedics and Traumatology Polyclinic is located on the ground floor. All of our rooms have fridge, television (per patient), washroom and bath.

Our traumatology team are 7/24 on duty in Ankara City Hospital Emergency Medicine Department. Our operating theaters are located on the first floor in Main Mass. It comprises of 12 available operating theaters which are equipped with the most advanced modern technology with perfect sterilization, infection prevention and safety measures.

We promote health tourism, host and treat international patients across the world, providing them high quality clinical care at maximum level of patient satisfaction as we accept and admit patients from other countries after we evaluate their medical history. 

Our aim as Orthopedics and Traumatology Department is to provide the best service, offering the best and newest treatment options based on evidence-based medicine after diagnosis and to do scientific research and join projects in order to make contribution to medicine in our country and to train new orthopedics and traumatology doctors whom we entrust our future. All necessary exercise and rehabilitation protocols for our patients are carried out by our orthopedics rehabilitation team during pre-op, post-op and follow-up.

Diagnosis and Treatment:

• Musculoskeletal traumas; fracture, dislocation, soft tissue injuries

• Spine disorders; spine deformities (scoliosis, kyphosis etc.), spine degenerative diseases etc. 
 
• Shoulder and elbow diseases; rotator cuff diseases, shoulder instabilities, sports injuries, shoulder degenerative diseases, elbow muscle and tendon injuries (tennis elbow etc.), elbow degeneration
 
• Knee joint diseases; meniscal injuries, knee ligament injuries (anterior, posterior cruciate ligament, lateral and medial collateral ligament), patellofemoral joint problems, cartilage injuries, knee degenerative diseases, knee circumference muscle-tendon problems 

• Pediatric orthopedics; developmental hip dysplasia (congenital hip dislocation), pes equinovarus (crooked foot), cerebral palsy, congenital orthopedic diseases and syndromes, Perthes disease etc.  

• Lower and upper extremity deformities, short stature

• Hip joint diseases; hip degenerative diseases, femoroacetabular impingement disease, hip dysplasia, femoral head osteonecrosis, hip circumference muscle and tendon diseases, etc.
 
• Hand and wrist; fractures, tendon injuries, nerve compression (carpal tunnel syndrome etc.), trigger finger, hand joint degeneration, congenital hand diseases, hand tumors, nail problems etc. 

• Foot and ankle; foot and ankle traumas (ligament injuries, fractures and dislocations), Achilles tendon ruptures and diseases, flat foot, joint calcification, nerve compression, foot and toe deformities (pes cavus, hallux valgus etc.), cartilage injuries (talus osteochondral lesion etc.), nail problems

• Orthopedic Oncology: benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors
